This farmer’s market-style event near Oak Island always has incredible seasonal vegetables, homemade baked goods, jellies, and unique local art. After the parade, children are invited to visit with Santa, and concessions will be available from local vendors! Bringing chairs and blankets to this event is recommended.Īnd, no holiday season is complete without attending the “Light Up The Night” Christmas Parade! This extravagant annual parade will be on December 9th at 6:30pm this year, and the parade route will be as follows: Waterfront Park, down Howe Street, and then back to the Southport Fire Station. On December 9th, you’ll find an outdoor showing of Polar Express at the Garrison Lawn with hot chocolate included. The State Port Pilot Annual Cookie Content will be on December 7th from 3:30pm to 5:30pm and Supper with Santa’s Elves will be held the same evening between 5:00pm and 6:30pm. Even those that didn’t participate in the actual parade had a magical time. Last year, guests decked their bikes (and themselves) for a fun ride around Southport at the first annual Bicycle & Golf Cart Christmas Parade. If you’re visiting Oak Island in December from the 5th to 11th, the Southport WinterFest 2021 is a must! We’re still waiting for the 2022 Winterfest flyer to be released, but this week-long event normally kicks off during the first week of December. There’s something new every year to experience, and it’s one of the best ways to get into the holiday spirit! There is a lot of Star Wars around the campground.Īnd this castle was here last year, including Cinderella’s carriage. I don’t remember the huge Mickey inflatables that guests have this year. I have seen the Hitchhiking Ghosts many times, and it’s fun to see them in their holiday best. I always love the decorations the campsite guests add for different holidays, including Christmas. We then walked around the campground for a bit. The back of Mater even has the license plate A-113. Mater is next! And then a cart with BB-8 wearing antlers. This cart is designed like the Jingle Cruise.Ī Nightmare Before Christmas cart features Oogie Boogie and other characters. Guests dressed as Reindeer, Santa and an elf run ahead of a cart. During the last two Fourth of July golf cart parades, the Main Street Philharmagic has marched! It was really nice to have a band for Christmas too. There was a band – I don’t know where they are from. I am not sure what happened with Santa here. Mickey and Minnie at the back of this one. ![]() This vehicle also had a lot of bubbles coming from it.Īn online Instagram friend and his family were in this vehicle. There is also a unique vehicle that looks like a locomotive behind them. For both Halloween and Christmas this year, it was Chip and Dale. There is always at least one character in the parade. The holiday version is much more chill, with a decent crowd but not nearly to the levels of Halloween.Ī horse and rider with an American flag led the parade. During Halloween, there were chairs EVERYWHERE and they were out early. There were a couple of chairs below in front of a lot of Mickey inflatables. ![]()
